Website Workshops about creating a website very easily.
Here is a link to the instructions I have found/made so far: Custom Domains
Went to a talk called 'Social Media Makeover' by Antonio Gould, a nice guy who seems to know a lot about the subject.
I have installed and tested loads more content management systems and finally settled on Drupal (I think?!) because of its large amount of support and documentation. I will be working on moving everything over during December and hopefully be done by January.
My website needs a change! I am working on yet another version of my website.
Just wondering how I should add the images that I have in Flickr...and whether I should add them to my website first and somehow upload them to flickr or the other way around. All very complicated but I do like having them backed up offsite. I will be adding some sort of Flickr banner thing eventually, I expect, that will link back to my images on there.
More code added...
We have been working on the admin side of the site now... stuff that makes it easier for me to add and update all the content. Because of this I have been able to add more content to the site... It is really coming together now.
It is starting to take shape now... I have actually sorted out the database (yay!) and the code is coming along nicely (thanks Simon!). The fun part of using the website to keep track of my research will be coming up soon, I hope... Just have to get finished adding in all the old stuff from the old site.
Right... this is the most that has been done to it in ages.
I am learning lots about databases, perl and php... but I am not doing it on my own. Simon is doing almost all of the underlying code and I am sorting out the css, or rather trying to.
